This class is
for anyone who wants to talk about anything to a native speaker and other
students, without using a textbook. The
teacher will add some structure and content to the class to make it enjoyable
for everyone participating. (Classes will be separated

Karaoke Class
Have you ever
wanted to know how karaoke music is made? Come learn how to use a free, easy-to-use karaoke computer program. You will download your own music and
synchronize it to lyrics. We will
discuss the meaning of the songs as a group. Each week you will synchronize a new song, with the 4th class
being a 2-hour karaoke party! This class
is great for anyone, from a high school student to retired folk. Each student needs to choose at least one English
song upon signing up. Please keep in mind
that the karaoke program can only support alphabet characters. Additional
cost: In addition to course fee, ¥450 for the music. (All Levels)

Book Club
This class will
read Anne of Green Gables for high elementary to intermediate students.
Students will read each week and discuss the book. The discussions will be
conversational in style. Additional cost: book and materials ¥600. Audio tape is optional for an additional cost. (Student Level I/A)

Movie Time
This class will
watch a movie for 4 weeks. Each week, we’ll watch 30 minutes of the movie, with
conversation afterwards. Each student
will get a DVD with the movie discussion materials for an additional cost. What

Baking Class
This class will
bake something different each week. There will be lots of free conversation about baking stories or life in
general while eating. (Student Level H-B/I/A)

Short Stories
This class will
listen to a short story once a week and help the student to improve his or her
listening ability and to help them speak more smoothly. Each student retells the story they hear and
learns to ask questions about the story. The following week students re-tell
the story they learned the previous week in a conversational style and then
listen to a new story. (Classes will be separated by Level)

Passport Class
This class is
devoted to spending 4 weeks planning a trip to Seattle, Washington and Kisakata’s
sister-city, Anacortes, Washington. The
class includes planning the trip, English conversation, and everything needed to
make a wonderful trip on your own. (Instructor) will go if requested upon payment of teacher’s
expenses. (Classes
will be separated by Level) (This class is also offered for a year of conversation and
trip planning before travelling)

Chat-room
This class will
teach you how to enter an English chat room, and get started talking to people
from around the world. We’ll discuss
what topics are good for getting started in a chat room, and how to make the
most out of your chat sessions. Requirement: Typing skills, high beginner to
intermediate reading and writing skills. (Student Level I/A)
