About the Video

In America, Walmart is a large store (like an Aeon) that has very low prices.  This SNL skit uses the new, expensive Apple iPhone as a topic.  Have you heard of the phrase,”You get what you pay for”?  Because Walmart has such low prices, this skit says that if you pay a very low price, you will get a cheap product.

About the TV Show

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is a live comedy program that airs every Saturday night at midnight.  Only the best of the best comedians are invited to be a part of this show.  Every week, a famous person or singer is invited to host the show, and there is a live music performance.  Anyone or anything can be a topic for an SNL skit or the fake news show!

Video's Dialogue

“Walmart has announced plans to sell a $99 version of the iPhone at their stores.
However, it will be lacking some of the iPhone features like the camera, and the touch screen, and the ability to make calls, and it’s just a calculator.”

Message from Sloan

In recent years I have started to enjoy Japanese comedians. My family watches two or three comedy shows every week. No, I do not understand all the Japanese the comedians use, but I can still laugh at many of the jokes. In this week's video blog Kristin gives you a chance to see a popular American comedian perform a short skit.
